I went out for another night photowalk with no particular idea in mind. I was already experimenting with slower shutter speeds for handheld shots when a simple thought came to me:

Why not pan with the moving cars?

So I found a spot by the road, waited for cars to pass, and started tracking them with the camera. The goal was to keep the car as sharp as possible while letting the lights and city stretch into motion around it.

It definitely took a few attempts. Some frames were too blurry, some missed the focus completely, and others were just… not worth talking about. But every now and then, everything came together—the movement, the lights, the colours, and the timing.

I ended up with a series that felt less like traditional street photography and more like frames from a movie.

The best part? I had no plan for any of this when I left home.
